A king Cobra can be found in forests in India .A  king Cobra The king cobra’s name in greek comes from the word ophiophagus which means snake eater and the If there is a lack of prey available to the cobra they like to eat lizards, birds and rodents. After having a large meal the cobra can survive many months without food due to its slow metabolism.They live in dense highland forests preferring areas that have lakes and streams in close proximity. The population of king cobras has dropped off in some areas due to the destruction of forests. The king cobra is  known as the world's longest venomous snake they can grow up to 4 m in length with the longest record cobra measuring 5.85 m.If a human accidentally gets on the wrong side of a cobra they are encouraged to slowly remove a hat or shirt and toss it on the ground while backing away slowly.
