Magical Matariki

 

What is Matariki?

Matariki is a group of seven stars and the Maori new year. In late April the Matariki stars disappear from the sky. They come back in late May. Matariki is the oldest star. She guides her six sisters. We can celebrate Matariki. We can fly kites and make kites. We forgive and forget people who have made us sad. In matariki we learn about how the Maori people used the stars to find their way home. We can catch fish.

We have been learning to make, name, and recognise wholes, halves, third parts, fourth parts and fifth parts using play dough.

My Holiday Highlight

First we played on  the PS4 . We put the CD in. After we played GTA5. We needed to do a mission. The names in the game were  Mile and Finn. The mission was to get Mils brother with the bad people. Mils brothers name is Jimmy. l felt happy because l like playing it.

 

Writing a Letter

We have been waiting a letter. Today we we to the mailbox. We put our Letter in the mailbox. We went back to class. We were happy.

Point England Picnic

On Friday morning we went to the picnic. Fi st we got our hats. We lined up and walked to the hall. Mr Burt told us the rules. Next we walked to the reserve. We sat down on the smooth green grass. Then I played soccer. After that we went for a swim. Lastly we got our bags and lined up. I felt happy because I had a fun day.
